Welcome to Normans Road Surgery<\/span><\/h4>\r\n

We are\u00a0now welcoming new patients! We\u2019d love to be your local healthcare home. please see our New Patients Enrolment page for more details <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Our standard appointments are 15 minutes duration. If you need more time than this for your appointment, please advise reception at time of booking. If you have paperwork for any type of medical, it is helpful to have the patient portion completed prior to your appointment<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We offer both phone and face to face consultations.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Any patients who have a cold, cough, sore throat or a fever, please wear a face mask while inside the surgery.\u00a0 This is safe practice for the protection of vulnerable patients who are in the surgery.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Please wear a face mask while attending an appointment if you have a cough, cold, sore throat, fever or any respiratory symptoms.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Please use the hand sanitizer provided when you enter the surgery.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

If you prefer, for your own protection, you are welcome to wait in your car or outside while waiting for your appointment. Please let us know if you wish to do this at the time of making your appointment.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Normans Road Surgery is a safe place for everybody; we all play our part in trying to keep everyone safe and well. Please continue the good hygiene practices we have all learned.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

We allocate 15 minutes for phone consults, just as we do for in person visits. This includes the doctor reading your records before calling you, and time at the end for writing your notes, organising investigations, prescriptions and referrals if required. Therefore, phone consultations cost the same as an in person visit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

If you require a prescription, please email your request to reception@normansroadsurgery.co.nz stating which medication you require and which pharmacy you would like it sent to. Please allow 48 hours before collecting.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Patients who are enrolled under Dr Kris Yee can email Dr Yee at Kris@normansroadsurgery.co.nz for prescriptions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

We know that these are stressful times, but this is the new normal that we all have to operate in. Please continue to be kind to yourselves, to each other and to our staff.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Drs and Nurses try their best to be on time for their appointments, however, due to the nature of General Practice, with acute and very unwell patients, there may be a wait at times. Please ask our receptionists if there is a wait.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please advise us as soon as possible. There will be a full fee charged\u00a0for appointments not attended if not cancelled within 2 hours of appointment time.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Test Results<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

All test results will be reviewed by your GP. If the results are significantly abnormal, the patient will receive a phone call or text from Normans Rd Surgery for further review. Patients will not routinely be contacted if their test results are normal however you<\/span> are welcome to email (nurse@normansrd.pegasus.net.nz) or call the practice and check if your results have been received and what they are.<\/span> If you have further concerns, we suggest you make an appointment to see your GP.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Our staff are here to assist you and your family. The Practice has ZERO tolerance approach to any verbal, aggressive, violent abuse and behaviour towards staff or patients<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Due to COVID and Illness, we have ongoing Staff Absences. We might have to re-schedule your Appointment. Please be kind to our staff. We apologise for any inconvenience.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

ADHD prescribing<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

As part of the upcoming changes, specialist and trained GPs will be permitted to initiate an ADHD diagnosis and begin ADHD medication after a full assessment. At this time, none of our GPs have the specialist training or experience required to diagnose ADHD or safely begin ADHD medication.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We will continue with our current practice and will provide patients with information and referrals to external providers of these services.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We can:<\/span>
\u2022 Ensure you are placed on the correct referral pathways for ADHD assessment and initiation<\/span>
\u2022 Provide guidance around local community and support groups<\/span>
\u2022 Continue prescribing your ADHD medication once a specialist has started and stabilised your treatment<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We will continue with our current practice and will provide patients with information and referrals to external providers of these services.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
